What EDDM requires
Every Door Direct Mail sends your piece to every address on a chosen postal route, so the address side follows USPS rules: an indicia, the EDDM mailing text and room for the route barcode.
Size limits
EDDM pieces must be larger than a standard letter. A common maximum is 6.25 by 12 inches. Pick a qualifying size in the calculator before you design.
Indicia and address area
Place the indicia in the top-right of the address side and leave the address block clear. We can provide the correct indicia artwork and place the mailing text for you.
Bleed, trim and safe zone
Extend full-bleed art 1/8 inch past the trim, and keep your message and logos 1/8 inch inside the trim and out of the address block.
Color and resolution
Build in CMYK, place images at 300 dpi at final size, embed or outline fonts and export the design and address sides as one press-ready PDF.

Download the template
- Open the price calculator and choose your size and options.
- Download the template that matches your specs, or resize the closest one to fit.
- Open it in Adobe InDesign or Illustrator, or in Canva.
Add your artwork
- Start from a qualifying EDDM size in the calculator, then open the template.
- Place the indicia top-right and leave the address block clear on the address side.
- Run full-bleed art 1/8 inch past the trim and keep your message in the safe zone.
- Remove guides and export both sides as one press-ready PDF.
